This MIGHT of fixed it so here it is for anyone else.

Go to

http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

and download the pbsetup saving it directly into your BF2142 pb file

Once downloaded run it
It will ask you the usual boring questions and finally a box will come up
The scroll down option allows you to select bf2142 as the required game

It will the run and hopefully thats the end of your worries..
